In recognition of some of these efforts, we were recently named Corporate Partner of the Year by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esd.org\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">The Engineering Society of Detroit<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> (ESD). Several Urban Scientists<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW211173241 BCX8\"> who have spent time volunteering with ESD<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW211173241 BCX8\">were in attendance including <\/span><\/span><strong><span class=\"TextRun Highlight SCXW211173241 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW211173241 BCX8\">\u30af\u30ea\u30b9\u30fb\u30d6\u30fc\u30de\u30f3\u30b9\u30fc\u30eb<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span class=\"TextRun Highlight SCXW211173241 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW211173241 BCX8\">, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW211173241 BCX8\">global vice president, as the night celebrated achievements in engineering, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW211173241 BCX8\">design<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW211173241 BCX8\"> and construction.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Urban Science is a founding sponsor of ESD\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esd.org\/programs\/gea\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Girls in Engineering Academy<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> (GEA), which<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"none\">was designed to get more underrepresented, minority middle school girls <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">in metro Detroit<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> excited and engaged in STEM education with a specific emphasis on engineering. Today, some 160 middle and high school girls participate in the program.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Since launching in 2017, our partnership has not only provided the GEA with monetary gifts, but skills-based volunteerism and mentoring from our Detroit-based team members. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This includes an annual <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.urbanscience.com\/jp\/resources\/energizing-the-future-detroit-office-hosts-girls-in-engineering-academy-for-stem-immersion-day-and-mentorship-from-women-urban-scientists\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">STEM immersion day<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, during which we welcome 10<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u756a\u76ee<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> grade GEA members into our Detroit HQ to learn more about our company and the various career paths in today\u2019s technological landscape.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The support of partners like Urban Science has been and will continue to be vital to the success of GEA and its members,\u201d said <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Robert Magee<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, executive director. \u201cThese collaborations have helped enrich the academic learning experience providing the GEA girls with invaluable opportunities to observe engineering in action, engage with female engineers and visit engineering facilities during our summer field trips.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">On behalf of Urban Scientists everywhere, we\u2019re proud to align with and support the work of The Engineering Society of Detroit and Girls in Engineering Academy and look forward to our continued partnership.
