Urban Science Appoints
Katherine Kress As Vice President,
Practice Development and Management
DETROIT, Jan. 15, 2007- Katherine Kress has joined Urban Science, a
global retail channel consulting firm, as vice president, practice
development and management. The announcement was made by Jack Bowen, chief
marketing officer at Urban Science. Kress will serve as a member of the
corporate management team and further enhance the vision for the company's
practice areas, identify new market segments and opportunities, and lead the
development of technical solutions.
"Katherine's rich expertise in CRM and retail channel management will help
strengthen Urban Science's tailored customer and market analysis services,"
said Bowen. "Her leadership skills, strategic vision and international savvy
will be great assets as we continue to improve our practices."
Before joining Urban Science, Kress was senior vice president and account
director for customer relationship marketing at Mullen Advertising in
Detroit. While at Mullen, she managed one of the firm's largest accounts, GM
Cardmember Services, and led the development of GMCS' lifecycle marketing
communications strategy to increase consideration and sales of General
Motors vehicles throughout the cardmember relationship.
Prior to Mullen, Kress was a senior consultant at Peppers and Rogers Group,
a management-consulting firm for customer-based business strategy. She also
was a director at the Institute for the Future, a research and consulting
firm in Silicon Valley. Kress began her career as program officer for
international relations at the Asia Foundation in San Francisco.
Kress holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of
California, Berkeley, in Asian studies where she received an academic
fellowship, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in both
political science and Chinese studies. Kress has authored numerous articles
and books including The Future of Advertising, Forecasting the Consumer
Direct Channel, The Future of Retail and The New Consumer Changes the Face
of the Workforce. She resides in Sterling Heights, Mich.
