URBAN SCIENCE APPOINTS BOB KIM AS GLOBAL PRACTICE DIRECTOR OF SITE SOLUTIONS
DETROIT, Dec. 17, 2007 - Global retail channel consulting firm Urban Science today announced that Bob Kim has joined the company as global practice director of site solutions. The announcement was made by Jim Anderson, president, founder and CEO. Kim will be responsible for the growth and development of the company's site practice, which is focused on improving individual retail location performance.
"Bob's diverse experience in both the location and site performance sides of the retail industry will be a great asset to our clients as we help them assess and manage their franchises in the most effective and efficient way," said Anderson. "Especially in today's economy, it's critical for companies to evaluate individual sites within their retail network in order to balance performance of market share and retailer profitability."
Kim joins Urban Science from Audi of America, where he served as network development general manager. He was responsible for leading all network development activities in the United States as well as dealer franchising, facilities, business management, retail process, dealer recognition and dealer performance. Prior to Audi, Kim held positions with Ford Motor Co., including regional sales manager (Detroit), Focus marketing manager, market representation manager (California) and zone manager (San Francisco).
Kim brings a multi-industry perspective to his role at Urban Science, having also served as the market mover initiatives director at General Mills, where he was responsible for developing strategies to maximize sales and category management activities for Wal-Mart, Meijer, Kroger, Safeway and Albertson's.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, Ann
Arbor and a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke Fuqua School
of Business. He resides in Rochester Hills with his wife Michelle and three
sons.
